Women‘s retailer Bonmarche has reported a strong set of results for the year as it opened garden centre concessions.
Taking out exceptional items, earnings rose 50.6 per cent to £13.7m. Profit rocketed 66.1 per cent at £8m. LFL sales were up 10.4 per cent as total sales rose 11.9 per cent to £164.3m. Online sales surged 84 per cent.
Beth Butterwick, Bonmarche chief executive officer said she was “pleased” with the results since its IPO and said the group has made “good progress” in its product, multi-channel, stores and service proposition. Bonmarche was valued at £100m when it floated last year.
It said it closed one store but trialled new refit concepts and relocated two stores.
Established in 1982, Bonmarché sells clothing and accessories in a wide range of sizes for women over 50 years old, via its own store portfolio, website, mail order catalogues and through the Ideal World TV shopping channel.
