The coffee shop that is half owned by Tesco, Harris+Hoole, has launched a new app which aims to make transactions as simple as possible for customers.

First launched in August 2013, the app now allows pre-paid customers to order “the usual” with one tap of the screen to order a coffee.

The company says the app integrates the point of sale and CRM tool and features a digital loyalty card.

The app is available to download for Apple iOS and Android devices.

Danielle Anderson, director of digital experience at Harris+Hoole, said: “The mobile payment removes the cold formality of an anonymous transaction and better reflects the kind of friendly exchange you‘d expect from your local coffee shop.

“For the first time anywhere in the UK, a customer can walk into any H+H shop, order their usual from a barista who knows their name and how they like their coffee, and pay – all from just one tap on their mobile.”

H+H has had over 100,000 check-ins at its 36 shops since the app launched.
