Michael Kors has announced the appointment of Marcel Ostwald as Senior Vice President for Menswear in a newly created role. His position will come into effect as of 1 August this year to fill a key space in the brand‘s developing menswear division.

Ostwald is not short of relevant experience, having spent over 11 years in branded menswear leadership roles, serving as Senior Head of Creative Management and Concept Design for BOSS Sportswear at Hugo Boss and prior to this as Menswear Designer for JOOP! Whilst the luxury goods retailer works to build a substantial menswear business alongside its well-performing women‘s division, Ostwald‘s appointment has been well received.

John D. Idol, Chairman and CEO of Michael Kors said “We are very pleased that Marcel Ostwald is bringing his talent, experience and innovative spirit to Michael Kors…We look forward to Marcel‘s leadership in creating both exceptional product and a strong men‘s fashion identity that captures the essence of the Michael Kors brand DNA.”

Ostwald added “I am excited to be joining Michael Kors at this special moment in the development of its menswear business,” says Mr. Ostwald. “It‘s a tremendous brand with a unique sensibility. I look forward to working with Michael Kors, Mark Brashear and the deep pool of talent at the company to take the men‘s business to the next level.”

Said Michael Kors “I look forward to working with Marcel, his talent, experience and understanding of brand-building make him the perfect addition to help our continued expansion of the Michael Kors men’s business”.
