Marks & Spencer has poached Cath Kidson’s Michelle Ojulah to be its new head of kidswear buying.

Ojulah, who has been heading up kidswear at Cath Kidson since 2011, will join M&S on June 25.

She will replace Carla Paterson, who has had a transfer to M&S’ menswear department.

Ojulah will also report to womenswear and kidswear director Jill Stanton, who starts at M&S in July.

Ojulah’s career includes stints at Boden senior buyer for five years, Monsoon Accessorize’s senior buyer and as a buyer at Asda’s George fascia.

“M&S clothing is transforming and we now have the right leadership team in place to get on and deliver change,” an M&S spokeswoman said.

“We’re excited that Michelle is joining to bolster our kidswear team. She brings a track record of success in an area that’s a real focus for us as we work to become more relevant for busy mums and dads”.
