Harrods chief marketing officer Amanda Hill has announced she will be stepping down after 18 months in her role.

Hill cited family commitments behind her decision, leaving the UK to join her family in the US.

She will depart from the iconic department store retailer in November.

During her tenure, Hill has ensured that marketing, insight and creative content were at the centre of Harrods’ strategy and that its focus on the customer was at the heart of operations.

Harrods credited her for building a “strong” leadership team across her divisional areas of marketing and communications, creative and editorial, visual merchandising, partnerships, customer services, customer insights, digital strategy, performance marketing, personal shopping and concierge.

The retailer said it would be looking to recruit a new leader to replace Hill.
