BrewDog has appointed a former Asda boss as its chairman in a bid to turn around the business.

The Aberdeenshire beer-maker has recently been accused of a having a toxic working environment.

Allan Leighton, who was previously the chief executive of Asda and the jewellery retailer Pandora is joining the board of the brewer as an independent non-executive chairman with immediate effect.

In addition to his role as chairman, Leighton will also act as mentor to BrewDog chief executive James Watt, providing “experienced counsel on leadership and governance matters” as the firm enters its next phase of growth, in particular expanding its international footprint.

    They would sell more if their prices were reasonable. How can Spoons sell Punk cheaper than BD in their own pubs??

    Needs to mentor him on his behaviour towards women and try to stop him bullying and abusing them

    I stopped listening to Tom with his anti-Trump stance as that’s not what I want from his brand. Leighton isn’t a good move I’d say, you’d have been better off with someone that isn’t a bully himself.
