Timpson CEO offers up free holiday homes for staff

Timpson is offering its staff members a free holiday in the latest gesture to its employees.

James Timpson, head of the shoe repair chain and key maker announced the news on Twitter last week.

“Good news! We have bought our 17th colleague holiday home, this time in Great Yarmouth,” he announced. “We now have 643 weeks a year for our amazing colleagues to have free holidays next year with their family and friends. Looking after colleagues is the best investment we make.”

The response was unsurprisingly positive with one user responding: “Your business is a breath of fresh air in these dark days. Merry Xmas to you and all your employees.”

Another said: “For years you have always attempted to do right by your greatest resource, your employees. Everyone I have come across says without hesitation the same and also it being a genuine ethos of the company. Take a bow James.”

One user said: “Could you come run Royal Mail for us please James, could do with a bloke who understands. Well done mate, this is how to be a boss.”

Mr Timpson said previously: “Our culture is about the elements of trust and kindness, we have developed this over the years by making it an integral part of the business.
