Ocado Group finance director Vineta Bajaj has joined rival European online grocery tech firm Rohlik Group as its new chief financial officer.

Bajaj has spent the last 10 years at Ocado Group, where she led on strategic acquisitions, developed its global tax strategy and raised £2 billion for the group.

She also led on the merger of Ocado’s retail arm and Marks and Spencer, which saw the high street retailer buy a 50% stake in the etailer in 2019.

Bajaj said: “I’m a big advocate of online grocery and the unit economics that it can deliver.

“Having worked closely with many global retailers, I am impressed with how Rohlik has grown and performed, both geographically and financially. I also love their focus on customer experience and on local suppliers.”

Prior to Ocado, Bajaj worked as a technical financial accountant at Irish multinational Kerry Group and as a tax advisor at KPMG.

Rohlik chief executive Tomáš Čupr said: “Vineta has hugely relevant experience in the eCommerce industry as a whole and significantly relevant experience in our sector.

“As we look to the future of Rohlik Group and what is needed to take our business to the next level, Vineta was the obvious choice for CFO.”
