The Grocer owner acquires Retail Week and World Retail Congress

William Reed has snapped up both Retail Week and World Retail Congress as it looks to build on its fast-growing business in digital content, insight, events and exhibitions, The Grocer has revealed.

Both names will join a host of retail-focused publications, including The Grocer, Convenience Store, Forecourt Trader, British Baker and Food Manufacture in William Reed’s retail and manufacturing business unit.

The Grocer confirmed that Retail Week and World Retail Congress teams will operate as a standalone team under MD Hanna Jackson, who will report to Lorraine Hendle – William Reed MD of retail, manufacturing and hospitality.

The news follows William Reed’s push into events following its acquisitions of The London Coffee Festival in August, and events business Rethink in November.
