Secret Sales hires new chief technology officer

Secret Sales has hired Accenture Technology’s Anthony Farrow as its new chief technology officer as it looks to strengthen its digital platform amid its ongoing European expansion strategy.

Farrow, who was previously the managing director and CTO for Accenture Technology, will be responsible for improving the overall experience for both shoppers and retailers through the use of advanced technologies.

He will lead the advancement of AI and emerging technologies to enhance Secret Sales’ efficiency as well as manage the implementation of serverless architecture, refining search capabilities, and seamlessly integrating AI-driven product attributes.

During his 23-year tenure at Accenture, Farrow worked with some of the world’s leading global fashion brands including Burberry and The Kering Group to design and implement commercially successful retail solutions.

Secret Sales chief executive Chris Griffin said Farrow’s appointment comes at a “pivotal transformation point for the business”.

He added that Farrow’s “leadership, depth of ecommerce knowledge and his proven ability to develop innovative retail solutions are precisely what we need as we continue to evolve and grow the platform”.

“Anthony really understands our unique business model and has a clear vision for how data can unlock greater value for our customers,” he said.

Farrow said that Secret Sales’ “ambition to shake up the off-price world” drew him in.

“They’ve got fantastic, fit-for-purpose tech, but the real game-changer lies in maximising their amazing customer and supplier data,” he said.

“Taking a holistic view across the entire front and back end is key, and that’s where I come in. It’s what we do next with this data that will set us apart, and I’m excited to deliver a data-driven vision for the platform and see it through to the very end.”
