B&Q launches in-store partnership with paint company Lick

B&Q has launched an in-store partnership with paint company Lick, to sell its products in shops for the first time.

The retailer is set to sell a range of paint, samples and decorating accessories from the paint business in stores throughout the UK and Ireland.

The DIY company first began stocking Lick paint on its website back July, but its latest move means the products can now be found in stores along with an interactive, digital screen allowing customers complete a quiz to receive colour suggestions.

B&Q head of decorative, flooring and tiling Laura Dollimore said: “We’re delighted to be working with Lick to implement such an innovative, advanced in-store experience for our customers at B&Q.

“With the first-of-its-kind digital screen, our work with Lick is not only enhancing how customers can pick and choose the colour of their paint but are also making the experience much more enjoyable, interactive and worry-free.”

Lick CEO Lucas London also commented: “At Lick, our mission is to empower the community to transform their homes, with high-quality products, inspiration and support.

“We are thrilled to now be in-store at B&Q, as it allows us to expand our presence and help customers decorate with confidence at a large scale, whilst maintaining a personalised experience through our interactive screens.”

The partnership comes as the DIY giant could face severe disruption at some of its stores, after its warehouse workers recently voted for strike action in a dispute over pay.

More than one hundred employees at a GXO distribution centre in Swindon, which is contracted by B&Q, have voted to take industrial action.
