John Lewis Lego bouquets grow in popularity for Mother’s Day

John Lewis has reported a spike in demand for its Lego floral bouquets as an alternative gift idea for Mother’s Day.

Sales of the ever lasting flowers have soared 817% over the last two weeks, compared to the same time last year, with the hashtag #legoflowers racking up 31.8k posts on TikTok, according to the retailer.

Bestsellers for Mother’s Day include Lego daffodils, sunflowers, and its 939-piece Icons 10313 wildflower bouquet, as the bouquets reportedly grow in popularity as a mindful activity.

John Lewis toy and books buyer Catherine McCann said: “With the soaring popularity of floral Lego arrangements, many Mums will be enjoying floral gifts which will still be in full bloom this time next year.

“We’re seeing Lego sets really develop as a mindful activity for adults and these sets offer the perfect way to unwind after a hectic day.”

Earlier this month, John Lewis revealed it was launching a campaign ahead of International Women’s Day, inviting designers, producers and emerging women-led brands to join “John Lewis & Sisters” and have their products stocked for Christmas.

The retailer has changed its name to reflect the campaign on social media, effective from 8 to 10 March, and says it will be a platform for women to share their talents, stories and ideas with buyers as it searches for more makers.
