Iceland Foods is introducing “supersized” 3D hanging signs to its stores as part of its retail media efforts.

The frozen foods specialist is launching “giant” cardboard replicas of its popular products to its shops, The Grocer reported.

The signs hang from the ceiling or can be positioned in high-impact locations in the aisles of Iceland and Food Warehouse stores.

Examples of the signs include a Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottle, a hanging jumbo multipack of Velvet toilet roll, and Walkers 20-pack boxes.

Additionally, the supermarket is using the signs to promote its own label lines, such as its big value packs of frozen sliced chicken breast and back bacon rashers.

The signs form one of various new physical retail media activations the supermarket is offering to suppliers via its in-house retail media network.

Posting on LinkedIn, Iceland Retail Media said: “These giant 3D hanging signs recently launched in-store, enabling featured products to rise above the competition and command attention from the moment shoppers walk in.

“These supersized installations are a perfect example of the bespoke, high-impact activations we can deliver.”

The move comes after Iceland revealed plans to ramp up its retail media proposition in May, via a new partnership with marketing agency GIG Retail.

The grocery giant said that it was planning to add thousands of digital screens to its Iceland and Food Warehouse shops by the end of 2025, and set up its own “purpose-built platform” to manage the scheme.
