Kingfisher has appointed Ocado chief financial officer (CFO) Stephen Daintith as a non-executive director and a member of the company’s audit and nomination committees.

The appointment, which will be effective from 1 April, will see Daintith succeed Jeff Carr as Kingfisher’s chair of the audit committee when Carr’s nine-year tenure ends in 2027.

Daintith currently serves as Ocado CFO and worked as CFO for Rolls-Royce from 2017 to 2021.

Kingfisher Chair Claudia Arney said: “We are delighted to welcome Stephen to the Kingfisher board.

“As an experienced FTSE 100 CFO and audit committee chair, he brings a wealth of financial and commercial expertise to the board along with a deep understanding of UK-listed and international businesses.”

She continued: “Stephen’s depth of experience, including in consumer and retail, will provide valuable insights as we continue to execute Kingfisher’s strategic priorities, and we look forward to his contribution to the work of the board and the audit committee.”

Kingfisher recently named Hélène Trad as its new retail media director, effective from 1 December.

In October, the home improvement business also appointed Debarati Sen as its new chief commercial officer (CCO).
