Wickes has expanded payment options for its trade customers through a new partnership with Billie, allowing tradespeople to buy materials and pay later.
The retailer said TradePro customers can now pay invoices within 30 or 60 days, interest-free, after receiving real-time approval at checkout.
The service is available online and through the Wickes TradePro app, with options for home delivery or click-and-collect.
Once the approval process is completed during checkout, customers can begin using the payment option immediately when purchasing materials.
Berlin-based Billie provides B2B payment solutions that allow merchants to receive payment upfront while offering buyers more flexible payment terms. The company also manages credit checks, payment authorisation and risk management as part of the service.
Wickes digital director Paul Canavan said the partnership is aimed at simplifying purchasing for trade customers.
“We’re proud to partner with Billie to make trade buying simpler, faster, and more flexible. TradePro customers across the UK can get the materials they need straight away and pay in 30 or 60 days, interest-free, whether they choose delivery or click-and-collect.
“At Wickes, we’re committed to supporting tradespeople with the right products, the right service, and now, the right payment options, helping them keep jobs on track and their businesses running smoothly.”
Billies director partnerships Roger De’Ath said many B2B purchasing processes remain complicated compared with consumer payments.
“While one-click shopping and maximum payment flexibility have become the absolute norm in our private lives, the reality of the B2B buying experience is often still defined by complexity and hurdles.
“Billie is on a mission to simplify B2B commerce with payment solutions that meet the needs of both sellers and buyers. Rolling out our B2B Buy Now, Pay Later solution with 30 and 60 day terms for Wickes’ TradePro customers is a major milestone.”
