Television personality Pete Wicks has collaborated with Dulux’s creative director Marianne Shillingford to craft a bespoke pet nook.

The space is inspired by Wicks’ dogs Rodney, Eric and his late French bulldog Peggy. It showcases each dogs personality and uses ‘pet-friendly’ tones with a “wipeable” finish.

This follows research from the brand which shows 64 per cent of Brits call themselves ‘pet parents’, a figure which rises to 74 per cent among 18 to 24 year olds.

Over half of those surveyed reported that their pets influenced how they decorate their home, with 81 per cent setting up a dedicated area for them and 19 per cent have given their furry friends a room of their own.

The research polled 1000 UK pet owners and comes as the Dulux Dog marks 65 years.

Pete Wicks said: “My dogs are a massive part of my life, so they are always going to be part of how I think about design in my home.

“Anyone with dogs will get it – they’re family, they take over your heart, and before you know it, everything revolves around them in one way or another! Every dog deserves their own little space, somewhere they feel safe, comfy and completely at home. For me, it was about creating something inspired by them that not only looks good but gives them somewhere to properly relax and just do their thing.”
