Canary Wharf Group’s digital-out-of-home network in London will still be managed by Ocean Outdoor UK, after the firm won a competitive tender.

The pair have worked together for 15 years and under the contracts new terms, Ocean will be responsible for enhancing and widening its existing digital-out-of-home offering.

Canary Wharf Group’s network is currently made up of 45 digital-out-of-home formats which cover retail, pedestrian, roadside and transport areas. The network includes the Reuters Plaza screen, The Loop, Two Towers Canary Wharf and Crossrail Place.

Ocean has also been tasked with creating a programme of immersive experiences. These would be powered using tech such as augmented reality and would include installations and projections, as well as potentially drone shows.

Ocean Outdoor UK CEO Nick Shaw said: “Fifteen years ago, our partnership began with a single screen in Reuters Plaza – Ocean’s first large format content-based advertising screen.

“Since then, we’ve established a significant offer and track record of success built on ambition and our experience in premium DOOH. This is a milestone moment for Ocean and going forward, we will build on our goal to drive additional value, laying the ground for new and unique high-quality brand and audience experiences.”

Stuart Fyfe, managing director for retail, leisure and hospitality at CWG, added: “Canary Wharf has evolved into one of London’s most dynamic destinations, and our digital estate is a key part of our story.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with Ocean who share our ambition to push the boundaries. We are excited to bring our visitors truly immersive, cutting-edge experiences that reflect the energy and innovation at the heart of Canary Wharf.”

Ocean also handles BFI IMAX, Landsec’s Piccadilly Lights, Unibail Rodamco- Westfield, Battersea Power Station, Soho Estates and British Land.
