// Frasers Group non-executive director Anouska Kapur steps down from the board
// Her exit takes place with immediate effect

Frasers Group non-executive director Anouska Kapur has stepped down from the board with immediate effect, just three months after joining Mike Ashley’s retail group.

Kapur is a partner at law firm Child & Child, which specialises in real estate.

A brief statement to the London Stock Exchange on the evening of 21 December said that Kapur was leaving the board “to avoid any actual or perceived conflicts of interest with a third party professional services firm”.

The retail group – which includes Sports Direct, House of Fraser and Flannels – did not respond to requests for further comment and no specific conflict or firm was mentioned.

In the statement, Frasers Group said that the departure showed its “commitment to good corporate governance”.

David Daly, chairman of the board, added: “We would like to thank Anouska for her contribution.”
