Superdrug has paid £35 million in dividends to its Hong Kong owner and billionaire businessman Li Ka-shing.
The health and beauty retailer has been under the ownership of Ka-shing’s Chinese conglomerate since 2002.
Along with Superdrug, Li also owns pub chain Greene King and the Three mobile phone network.

Superdrug halted dividend payments in 2020 after the pandemic struck, but the payments continued in the year to January 1.
The retailer said it paid an appropriate amount of dividends in relation to the revenue and profit delivered within the Superdrug business.
Superdrug recently froze prices on more than 100 essential products for the rest of the year to help cash-strapped customers.
Superdrug chief executive Peter Macnab said 2021 was another year spent tackling the effects of the pandemic and warned that there are further challenges ahead.
