It was always going to be a controversial move and sure enough, eyebrows were raised when food delivery firm Deliveroo announced its partnership with buy now pay later (BNPL) company Klarna last week.

The move – which allows customers to spread the cost of their takeaway across installments – has come under widespread criticism from many across the sector, ultimately blasting both companies for the controversial partnership.
