Gymshark has revealed plans to open its first-ever flagship store in the US later this year.
The British gymwear giant‘s new store will be located at 11 Bond Street, New York and span 13,000sq ft across four floors. The brand also has plans to open further ‘core’ stores across London, Amsterdam and Manchester this year.
The flagship, which is the first of its kind in the US, will host events, community hangouts and work out studios.
CEO and founder Ben Francis said: “The very first event we did in real life was in a tiny 1000 square foot pop-up on Mercer Street in New York. It set the tone for so much that followed. The fact that, almost ten years later, we are preparing to open a flagship store in the city that is ten times the size of that first store absolutely blows my mind.
“New York has really become our North American home. Our headquarters are here, and to welcome so many members of the community to Lift:NY last year was incredible.
“But to have a permanent location that allows our community to train, shop and hang out, and for us to hang out with them, really takes it to another level. I can’t wait to tell you more about it and for the doors to open”.
Gymshark’s chief marketing officer, Noel Mack, also shared excitement about the announcement, saying: “Bricks & Mortar is back – and we’re super proud to announce today the Gymshark NYC Flagship store. 11 Bond Street, New York. Not bad for a bedroom brand.”
Last month, the brand opened the doors to its first permanent store outside of the UK in The Dubai Mall.
The new store is located on the Ground floor of Dubai Mall – the second-largest mall in the world by total land area, welcoming over 54 million shoppers through its doors every year.
It is the sportswear giant’s third store, following the opening of its flagship on London’s Regent Street in October 2022, and its recent launch in the city’s Westfield Stratford City last summer.
