Pro Gro Supermarkets has signed a further five-year contract with Co-op Wholesale, extending its partnership as a Nisa symbol across all 12 of its stores in Scotland.

The deal strengthens Co-op Wholesale’s presence in the Scottish independent convenience sector and will support Pro Gro’s plans to grow its store estate beyond its current 12 sites.

Pro Gro Supermarkets operates independently owned Nisa fascia stores serving local communities with convenience ranges including top-up groceries, food to go, snacks, treats, meals and BWS.

Under the extended agreement, Pro Gro will continue to access Co-op Wholesale’s supply network and Co-op Brand ranges across categories including BWS, food to go, snacks and treats, and food for tonight. This includes the Co-op Irresistible pizza range.

Co-op Wholesale sales and partnerships director Paul Webster said: “We’re thrilled to be furthering our Nisa store presence in Scotland through this five-year contract extension with Pro Gro Supermarkets.

“It’s testament to the fact that we understand the independent convenience store market and offer unbeatable partnership and knowledge to help them flourish and grow. This is a truly wonderful business, and we’re thrilled to continue to work alongside them.”

Pro Gro Supermarkets managing director Jay Javid added that the decision was straightforward because “there was simply no one else in the market who could match their level of support”.

“This deal allows us to take our store estate from 12 stores and beyond. We are incredibly excited about the future, and we thank Co-op Wholesale for everything.”
