Fortnum & Mason has unveiled its annual Christmas window display at its Piccadilly store, with this year’s theme celebrating the nostalgia and traditions of Christmas at home.
The seven windows each depict a different room in a festive house, featuring handcrafted details, illuminated Christmas trees, garlands and candles. A Christmas fairy appears throughout the scenes, bringing each setting to life with a wave of her wand.

The displays include a hamper waiting on a front porch, a kitchen filled with festive preparations and a dining table set for Christmas dinner. The store’s familiar mice also return, appearing in playful scenes including a game of chess with currants and cranberries.
The Christmas fairy was created by illustrator Olaf Hajek, who also designed the animal characters featured across Fortnum’s Christmas range. Details include bespoke wooden furniture and wallpaper using designs from the retailer’s festive packaging.

The windows also feature two jigsaws, one with 181 pieces to represent Fortnum’s Piccadilly address and another with 319 pieces to mark the store’s 319-year history.
Inside, the retailer has introduced a single colour scheme for its Christmas decorations for the first time, using gold and Champagne tones throughout the store.

“Our Christmas windows this year celebrate the warmth and nostalgia of Christmas at home, with our Fortnum’s fairy and mice bringing these traditions to life with a little Christmas magic,” said Fortnum & Mason head of visual presentation Sallie Smith.
“We wanted each scene to capture what makes this time of year so special, bringing back fond Christmas memories and inspiring new ones.”
