£8m to be pumped into Angel Central refurbishment

Angel Central shopping centre in London’s north has announced an £8 million refurbishment scheme.

The investment will see the construction of a new link bridge, new restaurants and new flooring and lighting at the shopping centre.

Property firm CBRE Global Investors, the driving force behind the refurbishment scheme, has also acquired 19 Upper Street for £4.5 million to create a new entrance into Angel Central.

There are also plans to open a rooftop restaurant.

“Our investment highlights the importance we place on the visitor experience and our desire to grow Angel Central as one of the leading retail and leisure destinations in north London,” CBRE director Laura Wilson-Brown said.

“The refurbishment and development will create an attractive, welcoming space for visitors to meet, day or night, while also building upon the leisure offers already available, such as the cinema and the O2 Academy.”

Angel Central is currently anchored by H&M and also houses Gap, French Connection, Rituals, Monsoon and Oasis.
