John Lewis poaches M&S procurement veteran Roger Davies

John Lewis has poached Marks & Spencer’s group head of procurement Roger Davies after nearly a decade at the retailer.

Davies is expected to start his new role in the summer and a replacement has not yet been announced to fill his role.

He has worked for M&S for over nine years, including six years in his current role as head of procurement.

His new role at John Lewis will be as group procurement director.

Prior to his career at M&S, Davies spent 16 years in various roles relating to procurement at British Airways.

“Roger joins us with a wealth of knowledge in both retail and procurement, and I look forward to working with him to grow the value procurement can offer the Partnership,” John Lewis’ group finance director Patrick Lewis said.

This follows the appointment of Andrew Murphy as its new chief information officer, and Ed Connolly to the brand-new role of partnership strategy director in December last year.
