Luxury retailer Yoox has revealed that it will launch its first own-label range in the next few weeks.

Chief executive Federico Marchetti announced the news at the Wired Smarter conference in London on Tuesday, adding that the range will be “generated by data but designed by our creative team”.

While the name of the brand is not yet known, Marchetti added that Yoox will combine data and design for the new label.

“We didn’t want to create a collection that had been designed solely by data, but by using data we think that the creative team can better interpret our customers’ needs”, Marchetti explained.

The announcement comes after speculation earlier in the year that Yoox could be working on something in-house after the brand posted a number of job openings for designers.

Back in September the premium etailer published job openings for women’s and men’s ready-to-wear shoe and bag designers, seeking applicants who could design “pieces appropriate for the Yoox consumer.”
