The nomination committee of H&M has suggested electing computer scientist Danica Kragic Jensfelt to its board of directors.

Jensfelt is a professor of computer science at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and currently holds 2500 shares in H&M, and as well as being a part of several boards, including Swedish civil and military defence company Saab and the Institute for Future Studies.

“Danica has unique expertise within computer science and AI and how this can be used in robotisation, logistics and recycling as well as within fashion and the shopping experience,” H&M committee chair Stefan Persson said.

“In view of the great transition that is taking place in fashion retail as a result of increasing digitalisation, Danica’s knowledge will be very valuable to the H&M group in the time ahead.”

Meanwhile, the committee has also proposed that the current board members are re-elected and that Persson is re-elected as chairman.

H&M is due to hold its next annual general meeting on May 7.
