Asics hires Philips and TomTom marketing veteran Gary Raucher

Asics has announced the appointment of Gary Raucher to lead a new category organisation focused on driving growth in running, core performance sports and sports style in across the sportswear giant’s EMEA market.

In his role as executive vice president, category, Raucher will Asics’ marketing, merchandising and product in the EMEA.

Raucher has more than 20 years of marketing experience, prior to joining Asics he co-founded a strategic brand consultancy.

There, he worked with brands to develop insight-led marketing strategies, drive consistent marketing activations and build marketing capabilities.

Raucher has also been the global head of marketing at TomTom and the global head of brand and communications at Philips.

In both roles, he led marketing transformation programmes which accelerated business growth.

“Gary is a highly experienced marketing leader with an outstanding track record of building global brands,” Asics EMEA chief executive Alistair Cameron said.

“With Gary leading our new category organisation, I am confident we will accelerate our future growth.

“The recent changes we have made to our organisation will enable us to drive category-specific strategies and take a more holistic view of the market.”
