Home & DIY retailer B&Q has announced the restructure of its Board as well as two new permanent appointments.
As the retailer shifts its focus to providing a more omnichannel offering, Steve Robinson, who joined the Board as Multichannel Director on an interim basis earlier this year, is set to join permanently as Customer Director.
Reporting to CEO Martyn Phillips, Robinson’s newly-created role aims to ensure fluidity across the Omnichannel Team, Customer Insights, Store Formats and Pricing & Promotions teams.
In another promotion, Ebru Sayilan, who has been working with B&Q owner Kingfisher for eleven years, is to operate as Commercial Director for Seasonal and Decorative, working alongside Ian Herrett who will take up the role of Commercial Director for Building, Showroom (Kitchen Bedroom and Bathroom) Installations and TradePoint.
It is hoped that the appointment of two Commercial Directors will bring added focus to the group’s common product strategy.
Elsewhere within the company, current Supply Chain Director Chris Ward will oversee of a new Business Transformation team while Marketing Director Katherine Paterson will also take charge of widening the own brand offering.
Phillips explained that the reshuffle aims to allow the company to concentrate on its customer driven strategy.
He said: “The changes announced today to the B&Q Board will move us closer towards an organisation that will enable us to be the company we need to be in the future; a more customer focused, differentiated, omni channel retailer that is organised to deliver the B&Q element of Kingfisher’s Creating the Leader strategy.”
