Asos invests in Covetique

Fashion e-tailer Asos has announced today that it has invested in second-hand luxury clothing website Covetique.

Allowing sellers to pass on rarely worn pieces, Covetique provides free courier collection as well as quality and price checking and photo production, offering clothing, shoe, handbags and accessories for a discount.

Showcasing labels including Burberry, Chanel and Alexander McQueen, Covetique was founded in 2011 and 15 per cent of its sales now come from international markets, making it a useful partner for the e-tailer as it seeks further international growth.

Nick Robertson, Asos CEO said of the move:“Our global base of fashion-lovers, predominantly in their twenties, shop Asos own-label and our edit of brands, as well as boutique brands and previously-owned product on Asos Marketplace.

“With Covetique, we are excited to extend this offer, through a site dedicated to re-selling high-end, well-presented fashion pieces, much more accessibly priced than they would be brand new.

“We look forward to supporting the team with developing and further defining their position in the market.”
