Shopping centre company Westfield has launched its first ever Christmas TV advert under the strapline ‘We Are Christmas‘, it has been announced.

Part of an integrated campaign created by communications company Yellowdoor, the ad will run for five weeks across TV, digital, print media and in-centre graphics.

Following the success of the company‘s Autumn/Winter ‘We Are Fashion‘ campaign in September, the latest marketing push will include festive entertainment within both centres such as a Santa‘s Grotto, indoor and outdoor ice rinks and midnight shopping hours.

The TV ad, which aired last week, will feature Rod Stewart‘s performance of ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town‘ and will run for three weeks.

Peter Cross, Managing Partner at Yellowdoor, said of the campaign: “We needed to produce the stylish, fashionable content expected of the brand with the Westfield Christmas campaign, whilst still capturing the multitude of offers found at both centres throughout the season.

“It was important for the campaign to appeal to a broad audience with both the print and TVC which we achieved by dialling up and down the fashionability dependent on the offer.”

The news comes as Shepherd‘s Bush centre Westfield London announced the introduction of six new retailers including skincare specialist Forever Flawless, which has 20 stores across the US and has chosen the centre as the location for its first European store.

A number of the new retailers and restaurants are using the opportunity to unveil new store concepts and designs, strengthening the uniqueness of the company‘s offer ahead of Christmas.

Myf Ryan, General Marketing Manager Westfield UK, said:“The Christmas sales period is a key time for Westfield and its retailers.

“Westfield has developed a marketing program which positions Westfield as the retail and leisure destination for Christmas across TV, print and outdoor media as well as events, PR and online channels.”
