Shopping centre Trinity Leeds is to host boy band One Direction‘s first UK store as the teen idols set their sights on the retail sector, it has been announced today.
1D World will open on Saturday 23rd March 2013 and remain open for three weeks, offering fans exclusive branded merchandise including T-shirts, calendars and life-size cardboard stand-ups.
The 5,000 sq ft store will also stand alongside retailers including Topshop, Mango and Coast at the centre and will offer shoppers the chance to enter exclusive competitions to win One Direction merchandise.
The pop group are hoping that the store will unite fans in cities across the world as the Leeds pop-up follows openings in New York, Sydney, Vancouver, Chicago and Stockholm.
A statement from the group on its website said: “1D World Leeds promises to be the ultimate meeting place for all 1D fans in Yorkshire, the North West and beyond.
“So Leeds are you ready for 1D World? We can‘t wait to welcome all the fans!
“Come on down and experience a true 1D World!”
