Asda will give £17m to its staff as part of a ‘Festive Thank You‘ in recognition of their efforts this year.

This year‘s festive package, which includes an £20 Asda gift card, complimentary festive meal and £5 towards a Christmas party, as well as a 20 per cent discount in-store, will be available to each of Asda‘s 180,000 colleagues.

The discount can be redeemed on the 19th and 20th November.

Hayley Tatum, Executive People Director at Asda said: “Our in-store, home shopping and depot colleagues are without doubt the heroes of our business.

“With Christmas just around the corner, we‘re delighted to be able to give something extra back to our colleagues, as a thank you for all their efforts.”

In July 2013, 19,040 Asda colleagues shared £61.7m after a three-year Walmart ShareSave scheme matured and a £26m bonus in February following better than expected sales.
