Wickes hires ex-Tesco man as marketing director

DIY retailer and building trade supplier Wickes has appointed Ian Crook as its new Marketing Director.

Crook, a marketing veteran who was Marketing Director at Tesco.com for over 6 years and has worked at the Early Learning Centre and Marks and Spencer, will aim to strengthen the retailer‘s customer-centric approach and multichannel strategy.

He said: “I am excited to have joined Wickes and to be spearheading the marketing strategy for a forward-thinking, dynamic organisation… and I look forward to differentiating our brand and our customer strategy as the marketplace continues to evolve.”

Simon King, Managing Director at Wickes, said: “Ian brings to Wickes more than 20 years high-level marketing experience, and we are confident that under his leadership, Wickes will thrive as a truly multichannel retailer and trade supplier.
