House of Fraser strengthens omnichannel offering with appointment of Mark Madden

News

Department store chain House of Fraser has hired former Ministry of Justice‘s Head of Digital Mark Madden as Director of Digital Products.

Following the retailer‘s ecommerce channels becoming the most profitable store in the group last year, it is determined to continue to provide a successful online retail space. Earlier this year House of Fraser said that it would “significantly increase” its omnichannel offering.

In the newly created role, Madden will lead digital product, project and customer experience – reporting to Chief Customer Officer Andy Harding.

Prior to appointment, Madden worked for the government, and held roles at TalkTalk, Boots, British Gas and Sky.

It has been reported that House of Fraser plans to merge its in-store and online teams in its Maylebone, London head office. The shift means that the business, which is owned by Chinese conglomerate Sanpower will move closer to a single channel approach across sales.

The retailer is now looking to further experiment with online, recently revealing that it will be trialling shoppable windows this Christmas.
