Fat Face, the UK lifestyle clothing brand, has announced it is in advanced negotiations with Portsmouth City Council to acquire a new Distribution Centre at Dunsbury Hill Farm in Havant.

The new DC is subject to successful planning and commercial negotiations and will provide up to 120,000sq ft of working space to support the business‘s growth plans, whilst ensuring the continued employment of the local distribution staff who play a role in Fat Face‘s logistics operations. The Distribution Centre means Fat Face will ramp up recruitment.

The new facility will provide Fat Face with increased distribution capacity to support ongoing expansion in the UK and overseas, as the business looks to increase both its retail footprint and e-commerce sales through the Fat Face website. The retailer hopes that the new DC will allow it to continue delivering its high levels of customer service through “enhanced fulfilment and an increase in the speed at which products can be distributed to both stores and directly to customers,” a statement released this morning said.

Fat Face will retain its existing Head Office site at Ridgway in Havant.”¯

“For some time we have been exploring options to expand our distribution facilities in order to support the company‘s ambitious growth plans,” says Simon Ratcliffe, Infrastructure Director at Fat Face.

“Having considered a number of locations across the UK, we have decided to maintain our commitment to the Havant region.”¯The new site will support our expansion plans whilst allowing us to better serve our customer base. We also look forward to continuing our support for local employment in the Havant area where our excellent staff, which now total 300 people in both Head Office and our existing distribution facilities, continue to drive this business forward.”
