Shop Direct, the UK‘s second biggest online pureplay retailer, with the digital department stores Very.co.uk, Littlewoods.com and VeryExclusive.co.uk, has announced Pets At Home Executive Director, Phil Hackney, will join the company as Operations Director.
Hackney will take responsibility for Logistics, Fulfilment and Customer Service when he joins the company in the new year, reporting to CEO, Alex Baldock.
Hackney has worked at Pets At Home since 2007, where he was Executive Director in charge of Logistics and Business Systems.
A graduate of Nottingham Trent University, Hackney started his career at Boots, spending 12 years in logistics operations. This was followed by six years with global IT distributor Tech Data, where he initially looked oversaw e-commerce fulfilment operations before running logistics operations in Northern Europe and acting as part of a business team that integrated a South American mobile phone business into a pan European model.
In a statement released this morning, Baldock branded Hackney “a logistics guru” with “tonnes of e-comm experience”.
“I am really looking forward to acting on Phil‘s ideas to take our operations to the next level,” Baldock added.
Commenting on his new position, Hackney said “Shop Direct is on a tremendous growth trajectory and I am very excited about the prospect of using my skills and experience to help deliver on the promise to make good things easily accessible to more people”.
