High end menswear retailer Pretty Green saw positive trade this Christmas, despite the unseasonable warmth.

Started by Oasis guitarist and singer Liam Gallagher in 2009, Pretty Green is an upmarket retailer with a style reflecting that of the rock n‘ roll star.

“We are delighted with the strong trading over the Christmas period and Q1 which we believe is a reflection of our investment in further developing the awareness of Pretty Green in the UK and internationally,” said Pretty Green CEO Richard Ralph.

For the six weeks to 31 December, total group sales rose by 16.5% on a like for like basis, whilst international sales grew by 24%. However, the company gave its highest praise to its ecommerce division, which saw sales increase by 27%.

“Growth was recorded across all our channels to market, but we saw a particularly strong performance from e-commerce through both prettygreen.com and our pure play online wholesale customers.”

This growth stands in contrast to many clothing retailers. The unseasonably warm weather around the Christmas season led to many declaring unimpressive or negative sales on their winter ranges.

“Pretty Green prides itself on uniting people through love of music and fashion,” Ralph continued. “Taking this further and highlighting the philosophy of the brand, we previewed our Autumn/ Winter 16 ranges at London Collections: Men, incorporating a capsule range celebrating the work, style and timeless legacy of Jimi Hendrix. The positive feedback to this collection combined with the Q1 trading performance and the start to Q2 means we remain confident we will continue to deliver growth in 2016.”

Here‘s hoping the profits aren‘t all spent on Cigarettes and Alcohol.
