Bonmarché has appointed Helen Connolly as its new Chief Executive Officer. She will take her position as the company‘s head later this year.

Connolly is currently working as the Senior Buying Director for George at Asda.

Her previous roles include Category Director for Buying and Design and Buying Manager of Womenswear at George. In addition Connolly served as the Head of Sourcing for Womenswear from India, Sri Lanka and China at Next, as well as Head of Buying at Dorothy Perkins.

The majority of the new Chief Executive‘s experience is based in value retail and women‘s clothing which will be largely relevant in her new role. Connolly has been presented with a challenging job to recover the plus-size clothing retailer which announced a profit warning before Christmas and falling half-year profits.

The date of Connolly‘s appointment is yet to be announced.
