Turnover at Ann Summers Ireland, which operates four stores, is back in the black.

Newly filed accounts show that the business, which began life 17 years ago in Dublin, rang up â‚¬149,269 profit for the 12 months to the end of June 2015 compared to a â‚¬29,755 pre-tax loss in 2014.

The adult toys and lingerie specialist said net assets at the end of June totalled €3.6m.

The retailer is to open an additional store in Ireland this year which is forecast to produce double the turnover than that of the flagship store. When the latter opened, Ann Summers was met with negative publicity while CEO and founder Jacqueline Gold was sent a bullet in the post.
