A new two story Sports Direct superstore will open at Bangor‘s Springhill Shopping Centre this August.

Property agent Lambert Smith Hampton confirmed today that a major refurbishment will take place at the current site, which currently houses both Sports Direct and Heaton Sports, to become one of the largest outlets in the Northern Irish town.

The 21,000 sq ft site is part of the Springhill Shopping Centre, located west of Belfast, which will see the arrival of Costa and Subway in the autumn.

This new influx of retailers is expected to drive footfall and consumers to the centre, which currently sees 175,000 cars visit every month.

“This park is home to a unique mix of retailers, from fashion, sports and bargain retailers, to well-being outlets and a selection of food offerings,” Lambert Smith Hampton retail director Ryan Kee said.

“We have secured these tenants on the back of a strong existing line up and plan to work closely with them going forwards to attract new customers to the park.”
