Trouva monthly sales figures released today reveals a 50 per cent, proving a triumph for independent high street retailers.

The online sales marketplace, previously known as StreetHub, was set up to drive growth of independent retailers, selling their items online and offering easy access to an online audience.

Since its launch it has won £2.5 million worth of backing from capital investors Octopus Ventures, Index Ventures and Playfair Capital.

It now has over 160 partner boutiques, some of which have reached sales of over £75,000 through Trouva.

“Our focus to date has to been to build our community of retailers in the UK and establish our core proposition,” Trouva chief executive and founder Mandeep Singh said.

“As we look forward to next year, we plan to open to expand our boutique network internationally to Europe and beyond.”
