Amazon is continuing to increase its presence in the UK by opening fulfilment centre in Daventry, the third new centre announced in the past 3 months.

The online retail giant’s new centre will employ 300 recruits including operations managers, engineers, IT and HR roles.

It aims to help support the 40 per cent growth in the Amazon Marketplace over the past year and continue to expand its already 150 million-strong product selection.

Recruitment for the new building will start later this autumn and see any permanent staff be paid a starting rate of at least £7.35 an hour, increasing to £8.15 after two years.

Employees will also have access to Amazons Career Choice program which offers employees funding for adult education courses with support of up to £8000 over four years.

This will become Amazon‘s 13th UK fulfilment centre, with two more new warehouses opening next year in Doncaster and Tillsbury creating more than 1500 jobs between them.

“The new site in Daventry will enable us to continue to expand our product selection, support more third party sellers including small businesses with our fulfilment expertise and meet growing customer demand in the UK.”
