Unilver executive Alessandra Bellini will soon move to Tesco, where has been hired to take on the role of chief customer officer.

Bellini will officially start at Tesco on March 1, filling in the position after Robin Terrell‘s sudden departure last October.

She moved to Tesco after working at Unilver for more than 20 years, with her last roles there as food category vice president in North America and US food general manager.

Bellini has also held executive roles in markets including Italy and central and Eastern Europe during her time at Unilver, and worked with Tesco chief executive Dave Lewis when he was there, too.

Before Unilever, Bellini spent 12 years in the advertising industry in both Italy and the UK.

“I‘m delighted that Alessandra is joining the team at Tesco,” Lewis said.

“Her experience in building brands will be a valuable asset in the next stage of building a truly differentiated Tesco brand.

“She understands how to put the customer at the heart of business decisions, and has a great track record of building market-leading brands and teams.”

Bellini will also join Tesco‘s executive committee, filling the vacancy left by Terrell.
