Over the years, the Chelsea in Bloom competition has attracted visitors from around the world to view the unique floral displays around the famous west London neighbourhood.

This year, the free exhibition returns with an “Under the Sea” theme and scores retailers around Chelsea are taking part.

Chelsea in Bloom It extends the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show out into the area, as well as offer a modern take on the floral spectacle for guests to view for free.

A total of 80 Chelsea retailers from Sloane Street, Pavilion Road, Duke of York Square, and King’s Road, are taking part of this year’s Under the Sea exhibition to compete for for the Best Floral Display award.

Retailers like Boden, & Other Stories, Bulgari, Rag & Bone, Monica Vinader, Essential Antwerp, J Crew, Club Monaco, Nike, Boss, The White Company, Rixo and Lululemon, plus a number of restaurants are illustrating and incorporating the theme into their business.

Each year, gold, silver, bronze and merit awards are awarded to participants by Chelsea Flower Show judges, in addition to the top awards for Best Floral Display, Highly Commended and Innovation Award.

The public is able to vote for the People’s Champion on the Chelsea in Bloom website until midnight on May 23. Winners will be announced on May 24.

Sloane Square is acting as the event’s information point – offering free rickshaw rides or a walking tour of the area’s highlights.

On Duke of York Square, Wandsworth-based florists Maison de Fleur have created a giant turtle comprised of a mixture of plants, moss and brightly coloured flowers.

Meanwhile, Cadogan is working alongside the Plastic Oceans UK charity to end plastic pollution.

Chelsea in Bloom Guests who wish to make a donation can visit the charity point on Sloane Square, with an interactive installation on offer to raise funds and awareness.
