// Whole Foods Market will support London start-ups with new product pitch program
// The pitch day process will see brands mentored by Whole Foods’ experienced buyers
// The winner will be announced June 28 and will work with Whole Foods to get their product to market

Whole Foods Market has announced a product pitch program for this month to support start-up businesses in London.

The US supermarket chain’s pitch day process will see many brands mentored by its experienced buyers, as well as a chance to test the market in seven Whole Foods stores across the capital.

Whole Foods’ first pitch process took place from June 1-16, and saw brands utilising Instagram to tag #WFMLocalPitchDay and state what their product is, where it’s made and why they want to be stocked at Whole Foods Market.

The second process is currently on-going until June 21, where entries are shortlisted to 10 brands and will be shared on Whole Foods Market’s Instagram stories, where the chain will contact each brand to give them a time slot for the pitch day.

Furthermore, the shortlisted suppliers will be able pitch to a panel of three to four Whole Foods Market buyers on June 26, and the winner is due to be announced on June 28.

The winner will then work with Whole Foods Market to get their product to market and will see an official launch in October.

Whole Foods Market which exclusively sells products free from hydrogenated fats and artificial colours, flavors, preservatives, and sweeteners, also prides itself on its commitment to stocking local products, so the program is set up to create positive momentum for London-based businesses.
