Aldi has announced it is set to go on a recruitment drive to hire over 2000 new employees across the UK between now and Christmas.

The discounter, which currently has over 920 stores and employs around 38,000 people, is pushing ahead with plans to open more than one new store a week this year.

Aldi is opening new stores in towns and cities such as Canterbury, Swansea and London, as well as many others up and down the country.

Store assistants at Aldi can earn up to £10.57 nationally, and £11.32 inside the M25, with the supermarket also paying for breaks.

Other store roles available will include managerial positions, Caretakers and Cleaners, as well as store apprentices.

Aldi is also currently recruiting for 900 jobs across its 13 Regional Distribution Centres around the UK, and a further 175 vacancies at its head office in Atherstone, Warwickshire.

In addition, Aldi is also on the lookout for over 80 graduates to join its next graduate scheme intake, starting from September onwards.

“As we continue to invest in new stores, bringing unbeatable Aldi prices to millions of customers, we’re looking for thousands more colleagues to join our incredible teams across the country,” Aldi UK chief executive Giles Hurley said.

    Not a fan of Aldi but they seem to be doing well like Lidl and Poundland and B and M and Home Bargains who have spread all over the place really over the last decade.

    It’s work for people who want it with them and need it.
