ISawItFirst has reportedly hired former Matalan deputy chief executive Greg Pateras to the role of executive director as the company prepares for a stock market flotation.

Pateras is expected to signal a professionalising of the fast fashion retailer, which could entail an IPO, Retail Week reported.

In his last role at Matalan, Pateras led a turnaround and digital transformation.

He was also the chief financial officer of Shop Direct and helped transform the business from a loss-making catalogue retailer to a fast-growing pureplay.

ISawItFirst was founded by Jalal Kamani, brother of Boohoo co-founder Mahmud Kamani.

Jalal aims to replicate Boohoo’s growth with ISawItFirst, which is currently sponsoring reality TV show Love Island.

ISawItFirst sponsored the last series of the show, which helped sales surge 62 per cent in its last financial year to October 2020.
