Frasers Group is adding another Flannels store to its growing portfolio this autumn, with the opening of a store in Romford’s Liberty Shopping Centre, Essex.
The retail group has committed to 11,564 sq ft of space at the centre, split across two floors.
Flannels will take over the vacant former Topshop unit on a long-term lease after it begins redevelopment in November, with a completion date expected around Spring 2022.

Fraser Group’s decision to open a new store follows a busy leasing period for the centre, with H&M agreeing to extend its lease at The Liberty Shopping Centre by a further 10 years.
Under the new arrangement, the current 24,000 sq ft H&M store will be given a full revamp and refurbishment, with work already underway.
Steven Gray, Head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, which manages the centre, said: “This latest round of lettings highlights the appeal of our centre to both independent and international retailers, who recognise the value of what we can offer as a shopping destination.
“It is hugely encouraging to see major retailers like Frasers Group and H&M investing in their physical presence within our centre, which we believe will have a positive ripple effect for all our retailers”.
Despite much turbulence on the UK’s high streets, Flannels aims to open 10 flagship stores over the next five years, with new stores recently opened in Brighton and Leicester. Flannels currently has another store in Romford on Market Place.
