Waitrose is to introduce dedicated Gail’s Bakery areas inside 64 of its shops across the south and east of England by May.

The upmarket grocer is also doubling the range of Gail’s sourdough breads and baked goods it stocks in 95 of its shops as well as add new lines of bagels, baguettes, crackers and muffins.

The move to roll out dedicated areas of the bakery chain follows a successful trial in three of the retailer’s stores at the end of last year.
